Space Only Rules & Regulations

These guidelines ensure a welcoming, non-intimidating event with excellent sight lines and traffic flow.

Essential Design Requirements

  • Construction: Space only exhibitors must arrange all electrical mains, fittings, carpets, and walling independently.
  • Wall Heights: Adjoining walls are compulsory (min 2.5m). Walls exceeding 2.5m must be finished in a plain neutral colour up to 4m.
  • Structural Approval: Structures over 4m high require structural engineer approval (min fee £290 + VAT).
  • Full Walling: Any build over 1.2m is considered full walling. Max run of 3m of full walling per open side, separated by at least 1m of clear or low (1.2m) space.
  • Transparency: Clear glazing must remain 100% transparent. No tints, frosting, or blinds are permitted.
  • Platforms: Platforms over 38mm require a disabled access ramp with handrails in a contrasting colour. All platform edges must be rounded to prevent trips.
  • Super Platforms: Platforms over 600mm are complex structures and require full structural details for approval.

Lighting, AV, and Logistics

  • Lighting Rigs: Must be placed at least 6m from the hall floor and installed by authorized venue contractors.
  • AV Equipment: Speakers must be angled inwards towards the centre of the stand to avoid noise nuisance.
  • Flooring: Carpets must comply with BS 4790. Ensure steel frameworks have adequate base plates to protect the venue floor.
